Foundation’s Strong Communities grantee featured in The Plain Dealer’s Inside & Out section

(5/23/13) On May 18, The Healthy Eating & Active Living – Buckeye, Larchmere & Woodland Hills (HEAL) initiative, in conjunction with the Buckeye Shaker Square Development Corporation (BSSDC), planted 42 organic backyard gardens in a single day in Cleveland’s Buckeye, Larchmere and Woodland Hills neighborhood with the help of community partners and volunteers through the Buckeye Area Family Garden Initiative. The initiative is spearheaded by the resident-led HEAL Initiative, a community partnership working to make healthy eating and active living a part of the culture and everyday living in the Buckeye, Larchmere and Woodland Hills neighborhoods.
