Posted July 07, 2022 in News Items

CLEVELAND - 25 organizations and 25 businesses in Buckeye-Shaker, Mt. Pleasant, and Woodland Hills was awarded $25,000 from Saint Luke's in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Saint Luke's Foundation at the City Club of Cleveland Forum on June 30th. Saint Luke's used its community engagement platform, Lift Every Voice, to invite residents to nominate nonprofits and for-profits operating within Saint Luke’s footprint that had a positive socio-emotional impact and a dedication to boosting the local economy.

The Saint Luke's Foundation was tasked with considering its influence on the
neighborhood and determining the legacy it wanted to leave for the following 25 years. Saint Luke's observations made it clear that community voices needed to be at the center of the Foundation's work in this new chapter, and Lift Every Voice community engagement platform was established as a result.

Lift Every Voice is an interactive engagement tool to learn from residents about the local issues and organizations the Foundation should support while incorporating the ideals, principles, and practices of trust-based philanthropy. More than 195 people offered their opinions and suggestions for the neighborhood's unsung heroes. The Foundation also considered over 4,000 responses from other input provided on the digital platform. Saint Luke's carefully selected 25 non-profits and 25 for-profits that will each receive a $25,000 expenditure responsibility grant based on the Lift Every Voice data, resident nominations, and guidance from the Saint Luke's Resident Advancement Committee. The recipients of this one-year grant will be free to use it any way they see fit on humanitarian endeavors that further their work in keeping with Saint Luke's mission. Additionally, the Saint Luke’s Foundation will host an Informational Social at 121 Larchmere on July 6th to celebrate the anniversary of grants recipients.

"We appreciate the residents' nominations of remarkable nonprofits and
businesses.” According to President and CEO Timothy Tramble, Sr., "We believe that our $1.25 million anniversary grants will symbolize our reaffirmed commitment to the residents, their voices, and their overall health. In the end, the anniversary grants represent our commitment to the demands of the neighborhood and the local economy.”
