Dear friend of Saint Luke's,

Over the last five years, the Saint Luke’s Foundation has developed a new strategic plan with a focus on health equity and reducing racial disparities. We have placed increased emphasis on evaluating outcomes and on strengthening our connection to our surrounding neighborhood.

The success of this strategy has put the Foundation on solid ground with a bright future. So, it is with mixed emotions that I am letting you know that, after five gratifying years, I will be departing as President and CEO of the Saint Luke's Foundation.

The experience I gained as CEO of Saint Luke’s working with hundreds of non-profit organizations, and previously as CEO of a non-profit, makes this career change a natural and exciting move for me. I am going to pursue my passion for building capacity and strengthening the effectiveness of non-profit organizations through a consulting practice that will focus on building management, program evaluation and strategic fundraising capacity.

I leave with nothing but fondness and a firm belief in this organization and its ability to continue to have significant impact on the pursuit of health equity through the work of our non-profit partners. In order to ensure a smooth transition, I will be staying on until the end of 2019 or early into 2020 to allow time for the Board to conduct a national search to identify my successor.

While bittersweet, I am supremely comfortable with this decision thanks to the strength, devotion, thoughtfulness and support of the Saint Luke’s Board. They, along with our very capable and passionate staff, are firmly committed to continuing the important work of addressing the social determinants of health in pursuit of health equity and to deepening our role in the community surrounding Saint Luke's and throughout Cuyahoga County.

It has genuinely been an honor, and a great pleasure, to work with you in my role at the Saint Luke's Foundation. This work has been both inspiring and humbling for me personally. What an experience it has been to see such breadth of success, partnership and great work. I am confident that the future is bright.
