Sandra Byrd Chappelle joined the Saint Luke’s Foundation in July 2007, as Senior Program Officer – Transformational Initiatives. A native of Northeast Ohio, Ms. Chappelle brings 27 years of experience in the health and human services arena, to her role at the Foundation. Her most recent position was as the Senior Health Policy Advisor for the Board of Cuyahoga County Commissioners where she was responsible for analyzing the implications of state and federal policy pertaining to health access, and planning and implementing broad-based community initiatives. 

 

From 2007 to present, Ms. Chappelle has served on the board of the Health Policy Institute of Ohio as well as the Invest in Children Partnership Committee. Her work has garnered award recognition from the National Association of People with AIDS (2007) for work associated with establishing the regional Ryan White Planning Council in Northeast Ohio and the development of a service delivery and payment management system.  She was also honroed in 2008 by the YWCA of Cleveland as a Woman of Professional Excellence.

 

Ms. Chappelle earned both her B.A. and M.A. degrees from Kent State University.
