Two years ago, the Saint Luke's Foundation reviewed board and staff roles, responsibilities, processes and working styles to ensure effective governance and leadership of the Foundation into the next decade. As a result, the Foundation reaffirmed its mission, updated its vision and core values, and retooled and streamlined its grantmaking process into two categories – Community Grants and Transformational Initiatives.

 

Additionally, the Foundation made the decision to focus on the following core competencies: grantmaking, outcomes measurement, collaboration and communications. The focus on communications follows a national trend toward more effective use of communications to tell stories that will resonate with the audiences nonprofits are seeking to reach.
