City Council passes resolution to forward efforts of Healthy Schools Program in CMSD
(7.21.14) Cleveland City Council passed a resolution last week that will further support efforts by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthy Schools Program and the implementation of its framework in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD). This resolution will encourage all CMSD schools to enroll in the program; build school wellness councils, including teachers/staff, students, parents, and community partners; complete the Healthy Schools Program Inventory to assess current school efforts; and develop an action plan based on what’s important and achievable in each school community.
Saint Luke’s Foundation, along with The Mt. Sinai Health Care Foundation and the United Way of Greater Cleveland, are proud supporters of this initiative. To learn more about what this work means for Cleveland’s children, check out this infographic designed by Saint Luke’s Foundation.
